What is environment day? We all know that what environment plays a crucial role in our lives. It is one of the most critical aspects to survive on this earth, or you say this planet. It’s the source behind which we can make our lives sustainable. By keeping in mind all the benefits of the environment, we should take practical steps to protect the exploitation of our environment.

World Environment Day

To build life healthier and more environmental, World Environment Day Canvass was founded to bring positive changes in the environment throughout the world. Nowadays, the issue of the environment is a huge issue, all of which must be conscious and attempt efforts to look at this drawback.

Youthful people of any nation have the paramount hope for an optimistic transformation in the environment with contamination with global warming. Therefore, I am providing this writing on World Environment Day to assist you with collect some ideas with an understanding of World Environment Day.

UN General Assembly started the World Environment Day Campaign in 1972. It is celebrated every year on the 5th of June. People from more than 100 countries celebrate this day.

World Environment Day is run by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). From 1973 till today, this day is celebrated to spread awareness among the world masses about the conservation of our environment. 

With steps to conserve our environment, people worldwide also take various actions to avert the effects of Global Warming as we all know that Global Warming is the root cause of the ruin of our environment.

Being the global common, we should take preventive steps to protect our environment and helps our generations ahead. 

Pakistan and World Environment Day

The World Economic Forum (which recently launched a One Trillion Trees Initiative) produced a short video promoting Pakistan’s tree planting programme:

Pakistan remained among one of the very least contributors to global greenhouse gases emission. But Pakistan has been bearing loads of enormous natural disasters and environmental degradations.

Pakistan remained among the top 10 countries that face adverse impacts of climate change. Pakistan will hopefully take steps to curb ecological degradation within its limited capacity of workforce and technology

The Government of Pakistan continuously gives its part to protect the environment. Especially the current regime of Imran Khan, Pakistan has achieved promising milestones regarding the conservation of the environment. The world acknowledges the efforts and initiatives of the government, and therefore Pakistan will host World Environment Day 2021 in partnership with the United Nations. 

The efforts of Prime Minister Imran Khan especially attract the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP), and the UNEP approached Pakistan for hosting the UN World Environment Day 2021. The UNEP recognizes the initiatives of Imran Khan of planting ten billion trees within five years, and previously he planted a billion trees in Khaybar Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.

The theme of World Environment Day 2021 will be “Ecosystem Restoration,” focusing on making a close relationship with nature. It will also mark the formal launching of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration 2021-2030. It’s an honor for the country to host such a global event.   

Pakistani Prime Minister Mr. Imran Khan recently threatened the countrymen and the global citizen of the shortages of water and oxygen in the future as the glaciers are melting away at speed like never. Then there is vast deforestation worldwide, which is another alarming matter to be taken into account and needs practical steps to counter.
