Science is one of the many tools of human culture that began long ago. It has relations with human and human nature. We react to the situation we see ourselves in. We can imagine endless time and space even of endless beauty and endless goodness. We find ourselves in many worlds. We found ourselves in the physical world, the social world, the imaginary world, and the spiritual world. This is I would say the conditionality for being human. We have always been looking for tools that give us the skills to fit in in these different worlds. These Arts are now called science, politics, art, and religion. Like our ancient times, they give us power over our today’s lives and form the basis of our hopes.
In whatever form they exist and whatever name may be given, there has never been a human society without science, politics, art, and religion. As long as we are, they will stay with us. Often, in a complicated relationship with each other.
Human Nature in Era of Caves
We see pictures made in the caves of ancient hunters. Bones and rocks show patterns in which people count the numbers fourteen, twenty-eight, and thirty-nine. Alexander Marshak in his book “The Roots of Civilization” describes them as counting the variations of the moon. There is evidence of ancient methods of birth control. Twenty thousand years ago, human nature and humans were using mathematics to organize their ideas and create ideas about nature.
Science is not just an invention and is the result of human and human nature. This enterprise is the result of human nature. Over time, people have discovered the tools and habits that have brought the physical world to the realm of our intellect. Why is science the same as we find it today? One answer is that human nature and NATURE are like that. And the second part of this answer is that WE are like that. Rest is Just like human activities. If not human, then not science. Its Volcanoerupts from human nature.
Examples of scientific discoveries are, such as mountaineers in the dark who want to discover the highest peak in the country. You can’t see but can find out which path is going up and which one is taking him down. You can’t see if you reached any peak, but if from here goes downhill, you know that you are at the top. You can imagine human nature at this point
But is this the highest peak? Is there a strategic look, which is adopted to discover the highest peak in the shortest time? This is a mathematical problem. This is called the No Free Lunch Theory (It was proclaimed by David Wolpert and William McRade). The answer is, “No strategy is better than a random walk.” To create a strategy that works better, you should know something about Landscape and terrain in advance. What will work in Nepal, It will be different from the Netherlands. While science is the work of exploring the completely unknown landscape.
Because of this, philosophers have failed to find strategies that can explain how science works. And that’s why none of the strategies they invented matched the original. Successful strategies are discovered and Adopted in a particular field. Until then, as long as it works in a useful way. Once we understand this, we can identify which features of Science Nature benefit from.
The most important feature of nature in the success of science has been that nature is largely stable. It is very easy to perform experiments in physics and chemistry whose results can be repeated. While this is more difficult in biology or psychology.
In the sciences in which experiments can be repeated, it is useful for us to describe them by natural laws. That is why physicists have been interested in discovering general laws. The problem that comes to the most attention is not that the law is fundamental Or not. But what matters is that there are regularities that can be discovered and modelled. We can use hand-made tools for this discovery effort.
It is an amazing fact that we live in a world that is friendly to our intellect and has always been so. Ever since we started as a species, on earth, we have seen these patterns. This In the heavens or the seasons. In the migration of animals or the growth of plants and our biological cycle. Through the marks on the bones and stones, we learned to keep these regularities in mind. And then this knowledge is used to our advantage of today.
Today we build giant telescopes, powerful microscopes, and large particle accelerators, we are discovering nature patterns in front of us with our handmade technology. This is a project to bring the unknown into the realm of knowledge. And there is nothing new in this. We are doing what we have always done.
But if science works because we live in a regular world, then the other side is that this process of discovery works in its way because we have some unique things in our nature. Most importantly, In this, “we are masters of reaching conclusions with the help of incomplete information.” We constantly observe, predict, and draw conclusions. People with ancient lifestyles were doing the same. Particle physicists and microbiologists do the same. We never have enough information to help us fully to justify the results. But we can rely on our estimates and confidently state the results.
And this has the necessary skills successful skill for businessman, good hunter and farmer, a good politician and Good scientist. As a species, this ability has made us successful. And we have to pay a heavy price for that ability. We can easily fall prey to the fraud of others. That is why lying is always so disliked. Because lies are effective. Since we jump from incomplete information to the result, so lies work.
We must trust. This should be our basic assumption for a good life. Confidence, belief, trust, etc. These are essential to life because we cannot believe in anything if we ask for proof for everything. And then we in life can’t do anything. We can’t even get out of bed in the morning. Can’t get married. Can’t make friendships and alliances.
Another unique human ability is our complex language. And these are effective and useful because we accept what someone has said. Such an important and serious issue is how quickly we are deceived. Not only individually, but collectively as well. Sociologists are well aware that when we are in a group, we can easily admit even the most wrong.
The worst tragedy of the last century came when rationale-mind people agreed on something wrong and easy. The intense desire to reach a consensus in a group is also part of our nature. Because we are not alone, we are social species. For us, our Identity and achievements have always been greater than ourselves.
Our greatest strength is to conclude from incomplete information and our greatest weakness has also concluded from incomplete information. As a species, the biggest reason for our greatest achievements and best deeds is our group attitude. As a species, our biggest failures and self-defeating are also our group attitude.
Then how are we traveling so successfully in this darkness? Why are we successful?. It’s not just because we are curious or social. Rather, it is not just a prisoner of our prejudices. We form not only groups but also reform mechanisms. When they work effectively, they protect us from our weaknesses. Science has succeeded in cultures with a way to avoid group thinking.
Human nature is quite important to know the patterns behind everything. Because it is human nature behind which the whole world revels around. Human nature as discussed above from the perspective of scientists, is my outcome of well-researched and hard work. I hope you have found this blog about human nature worth reading.
